Pilot grant scheme announced for domestic solar PV installation

Denis Naughten, Minister for Communications, Climate Action & Environment, announced the introduction of a new grant scheme for the domestic market. This pilot scheme is designed to provide a financial grant to individuals who intend to install solar photovoltaic (PV) panels for domestic electricity generation. The scheme will encourage participants to install battery storage systems as part of their Solar PV installation. this battery system will allow users to store the electricity they have generated for use in the future.

The new scheme will be run by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI), on behalf of the Government. The grant will be up to the value of €3,800, depending on the system that is installed.
